The playbook Moonrank's Writer Agent uses to make a final draft correct and consistent — three systematic passes, every fix flagged with its rule, the author's voice untouched.
Download the methodology, see how the agent separates errors from edits, or run it live inside the Writer Agent.
The Proofreading skill is how Moonrank's Writer Agent takes a final draft to publishable: a mechanics pass, a consistency pass, and a references pass, each finding flagged with its location, exact fix, and the rule it violates — never a silent rewrite.
It's written as a SKILL.md, a plain-language instruction format that people and AI agents can both follow. Read it to proof your own work in the same three passes, hand it to your editor as a shared checklist, or let the Writer Agent run it on everything before it ships.
Downloading the playbook is free with a Moonrank account. Running the passes on every draft, every day, before publish is what the Writer Agent does.
“We published a case study with the client's name spelled two different ways. How do we stop shipping errors like this?”
One reread by the author catches almost nothing — they read what they meant to write. Three separate passes on your case study surface 23 findings: 9 mechanics (including a dropped "not" that reversed a claim), 11 consistency (the client's name two ways, "10x" and "ten times" in the same section, three date formats), and 3 broken reference links. Each comes with location, exact fix, and rule — a 20-minute apply, zero rewriting.
The piece that ships after this pass, with its language variant and any style guide.
Mechanics, then consistency, then references — one category of error at a time.
Location, error, exact replacement text, and the rule it violates. No silent changes.
Ambiguities go to the author with a recommendation — then a one-line verdict: ship, or fix-then-ship.
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, and agreement, in the target language variant.
Capitalization, hyphenation, numbers, dates — the document's own dominant choice, enforced everywhere.
Links resolve, quotes match sources, numbers add up, names spell the same way twice.
Every finding with location, error, exact fix, and rule — apply in minutes.
Ambiguities the author decides, kept separate from objective errors.
A hard rule: anything that changes tone or rhythm is an edit, not a fix, and gets cut.
